Martinez return

Fianlly the Mets righty Pedro Martinez will come back for his first start since game 2 on june 3rd. He strained his left hamstring in the 4th inning of the 2nd game of the season. Now that he will be back in the rotation, the mets will have an oppertunity to make some changes in their bullpen. Hopefully these changes will be for the better and their rotation including cy young winning johan santana and the young lefty oliver perez will help the mets climb from their fifth place spot to a jump in first.

WILLIE GETTING FIRED???

Many did not know weather Willie Randoplh would be the manager for the rest of the 2008 season and years to come. Thank god Willie will still be the Mets manager. The man knows alot about the sports considering he was once on a world series winning Yankee team. He is now the coach of their rival team, The New York Mets. According to Fred Wilpon the Mets are looking to have Willie on their squad for years to come. Losing Willie would not benefit the Mets. The only problem the mets are having this season is the fact that no body on their team has really broken out incredibly. Id say after the all star break, the Mets will be doing alot better.

whos better? Reyes or Jeter?

Most will say Derek Jeter is a better shortstop then Jose Reyes cansidering Jeter has 4 world series rings. In moddern day Jose Reyes leads in steals and hits over jeter. For a leadoff hitter it seems to me that Jose is getting his job done. Jeter is just better because he is a yankee veteran. Give Jose Reyes two World Series rings and he is definitly better then jeter. Id say another 5 years or so.

Jose Reyes- 50 hits, 25 runs, 18 walks, 14 stolen bases
Derek jeter- 49 hits, 22 runs, 8 walks , 2 stolen bases

Mets lose 4 in a row

The New York Mets lost four games in a row to the Atlanta Braves. These 4 loses takes the Mets from second place all the way down to 4th. If they dont get their act together soon, they are looking to have a short season in their last year in Shea Stadium. The two new york teams are not doing as well as they are thought to be doing. When will enough be enough?

Citifield

This is the last season the mets will be playing in the old Shea Stadium. Opening in the 2009 season will be the Mets new home field which willl go by the name of Citifield. The field will be smaller then shea, and will have less seats although fans will be happy to find out that every seat will have more leg room. The field will still be in Flushing, Queens where the Shea Stadium parking lot once was. Hopefully history will be made in this new ball park.
